The order you find the ghosts in can change your score several times over. Every rule is written out here.

The formula

Each tap scores 100 + opened cells × conditions completed × 50.

What counts as a condition

A condition is a row, a column, or a number inside a cell. It is completed once every ghost in its range has been found.

Opened cells — the exact definition

The non-ghost cells belonging to each completed condition that are not yet fixed crosses (your own × memos still count). • Cells shared by several conditions count once • Cells crossed from the start (zero conditions) never count • Cells already crossed by previously completed conditions never count

What does not affect score

Memos and hints never change the score (place as many memos as you like). A miss, however, fixes that cell as a cross, so it no longer counts as an opened cell. Hints only affect crowns and your Logic Rating.

Diamond and skull

The number of cells that will open in a round is the same no matter what order you find the ghosts in. The same cells score more when a single tap opens many of them and completes several conditions at once. 💎 A no-miss clear that reaches the proven maximum score 💀 A no-miss clear held down to the proven minimum score

Order is everything

With the same board and the same ghosts, the ORDER of discovery changes the score. The optimal value is the maximum over all orders; 💀 is the no-miss minimum.

💎 light and 💎 Hints

In a 🧠-cleared round, the first hint turns on the 💎 light. While it shines, your order so far can still reach the optimal score; the move that turns it off is the move that lost it. The second hint opens the ghosts that are safe at any time — catching them early or late never changes the final score — so what remains is exactly the part where order decides everything.

Getting close to the optimal

Completing conditions one at a time early closes them and uses up the blank cells that a later, bigger finish would have opened — so the big finishes shrink. In rounds you have solved with 🧠, each ghost shows what it would score right now — but taking the biggest score first is the long way round. Spend the 100-point moves (the ones that complete nothing) first, keep conditions open, and finish them together at the end.

Example: the optimal order (5×5)

The 5×5 example board; the numbered ghosts show the order that reaches the optimal score
The numbered ghosts show the optimal discovery order.
  1. ① Row 3, Col 3 — 2 conditions, 1 cell → 100 + 1×2×50 = 200 (total 200)
  2. ② Row 3, Col 2 — 5 conditions, 4 cells → 100 + 4×5×50 = 1,100 (total 1,300)
  3. ③ Row 5, Col 1 — 2 conditions, 0 cells → 100 (total 1,400)
  4. ④ Row 1, Col 4 — 3 conditions, 0 cells → 100 (total 1,500)

Total 1,500 — the proven optimal for this board. The key is waiting until tap ② to complete five numbers at once. Same ghosts, wrong order — far fewer points (this board bottoms out at 900).
